Large Chests Brown Unicorn
Our Brown Unicorn Chest is adapted from a
design on a chest painted for Margaret Kernen in 1788.
This pattern was thought to be derived from the work of
fraktur artist Heinrich Otto. Unicorns are a typical
motif for chests from Berks County, however the style of woodwork of the
original chest is consistent with chests found in Lancaster
County, PA.
