New England Sunflower Candle box

The "sunflower" design on this candle box was derived from a chip-carved chest made in the Connecticut River Valley, probably in the Hartford area.  The "sunflower" motif is representative of many chests from this area and also parts of Massachusetts.  The original chest is on display in the Old York Gaol, in York, Maine.

In addition to it's traditional use of protecting candles from mice, all our candle boxes are just right to fit cd's!
